MTU eReport

July 2015

Dear reader,

'Water on!' is a fire-fighting command, and to make sure it produces the desired effect in the future, the city of San Francisco is upgrading its emergency water supply system, which is now some 100 years old. The network's pump stations are currently powered by our Detroit Diesel engines. These date from 1972 and are to be replaced by four Series 2000 MTU units. With a pumping capacity of around 12,000 liters per minute, the pump stations draw water directly from San Francisco Bay.

Enjoy reading this issue of MTU eReport.
